Diann was born June 2, 1948, in Albert Lea to Manford and Matilda (Reynen) Peterson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School before attending cosmetology training in Austin.
Diann and Larry Young were married Sept. 14, 1968, at Hollandale Dutch Reformed Church. In 1976, they moved to their home in Wyattville. She worked at Camera Art in Lewiston until 1985. She belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church at Silo in rural Lewiston. Diann enjoyed cross stitch, photography, gardening, camping and traveling with her family. She was very proud of her Dutch heritage. Diann was known for her happy disposition and warm smile.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; two daughters, Tricia (Rich) Loch of Hastings and Traci (Brian) Strittmater of Edina; five grandchildren, Connor, Morgan, Elli, Logan and Libby; her mother, Matilda of Albert Lea; a sister, Julie (Tom) VanBeek of Marshall-town, Iowa; a brother, Rodney (Teresa) Peterson of Kasson; and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a nephew, Cory Peterson.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Silo, with the Rev. William Meilner officiating. Burial will be in Witoka Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hoff Funeral Service in Lewiston. They may also call one hour before services at the church on Thursday.
