Elbert Leroy Eads died suddenly January 9, 1930 at Hot Springs, New Mexico, where he was making his hom. Mr. Eads had been in apparently good health and his death came as a great shock. On the day of his death he had been working as usual at the brick plant which he owned, when he became ill and started home, dying before he was able to reach his residence. The body was shipped to Wellington where feneral services were conducted from the First Christian Church.
Mr. Eads was 44 years of age, having been born June 16, 1885 at Fayetteville, Arkansas. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Eads of Wellington; four brothers who are B.F. Eads of Texline, W.A. Eads of Dalhart, E.H. Eads of Chickasha, and R.H. Eads of Wellington; by two sisters who are Mrs. F.T. Walker of Aberdeen and Mrs. W.L. Grant of Mustang, OK; by his wife, Mrs. E.L. Eads of Hot Springs, NM and by three sons who are Arver, Earl and Claude Eads, all of Dallas.
(Convicted of killing his father-in-law Andrew Jackson Hopkins in 1911 in Collingsworth County, Texas. Sentenced to 12 years in the Huntsville, TX prison.)
