Big Stone Gap, VA - Jerry R. Neeley, 76, passed away on Sunday (Dec. 16, 2012) at Indian Path Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.
He lived most of his life in Big Stone Gap, but also lived for about eight years in Staunton, VA. Jerry was a back-up driver for the Statler Bros., an aid at Western State Hospital in Fishersville, VA, and owned and operated Neeley's Antique and Used Furniture Store in Big Stone Gap. Jerry loved gardening and was an avid sports fan. He attended the Big Stone Gap Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Neeley; his parents, Worley Ray and Mollie (Brown) Neeley; two brothers, Donald Neeley, and R. J. Neeley; and a sister, Salome Wade.
Surviving are one son, Jerry Shawn Neeley and wife, Amiea, of Bristol, VA; two daughters, Candi Cline of New Hope, VA and Shannon Phillips and husband, Daniel, of Raphine, VA; six grandchildren, Nadia Neeley, Selistino Neeley, Jacob Phillips, Jaden Phillips, Benjamin Cline and Joshua Cline; the mother of his children, Toni Neeley of Verona, VA; and special friends, Dorothy Patrick and R. E. Parsons.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Holding Funeral Home (17 E. 3rd St., N.) in Big Stone Gap.
The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Tony Palubicki officiating.
Burial will follow at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
