Born in Spartanburg County, SC; and a resident of Transylvania County for most of life; daughter of the late Oliver Taten Toney (1876–1965) and Lula Ann Dickson Toney (1886–1953); wife of the late William Robert Williams and M. G. Almany, Sr.
Survivors include her sons, William "Bill" M. Williams (Debbie), Bryan T. Almany, and Buddy Almany (Jane); daughters, George Anne Jones (Mark) and Mauri Ashe (Marvin); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Toney; and many nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Jean Walker; four brothers, Fred Roosevelt Toney (1913–1997), James Everett Toney (1915–1997), Warren Glenn Toney (1923–2004), and Herbert Hoover Toney (1929–2014); and four sisters, Katie Bell "Kate" Toney Mason (1905–1975), Virgie Loretta Toney Pettit (1906-1974), Beuna Ruth Toney Perry (1909–1955), and Frances Ruby Toney Wielinski (1919-2004).
Graveside service was held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 17, 2012, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, officiated by Evangelist David Soesbee.
The family received friends at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel one hour prior to the service.
Memorials could be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, Flat Rock, NC.
