Roy W. Bentley, age 60, of Bristol, TN went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2012 at his residence after fighting an all too short of a battle with cancer.
He was born March 16, 1952 in the Benham's community of Washington County, VA, the son of the late Sandy C. and Luna Bell Oliver-Bentley.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, TN and was previously employed by Charter Federal/First American Bank before becoming ill in 1996.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Epperson and a brother, Mark Bentley.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Kathy L. Price-Bentley, One son, Patrick W. Bentley and wife LaDawn of Scottsdale, AZ and one daughter, Amanda H. Nelson and husband Kenny, of Bristol, TN. He is also survived by one sister, Audrey Smith of Bristol, TN, two brothers, John Bentley of Bristol, TN and Ronald L. Bentley of Abingdon, VA, seven grandchildren, Clayton, Caydance, Nickolas and Nathaniel Rose and Julian, Nicole and Shane Bentley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Friday, December 21, 2012 from the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sid Payne officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 PM prior to the funeral service.
The interment service and burial will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at Rust Cemetery.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to God's House, 50 Clifford Road, Bristol, TN 37620 to aid in the ministry of Jesus' word.
