John Edward Bentley, age 75, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born November 9, 1942 in Sullivan County, Tenn., a son of the late Sandy and Luna Belle Oliver Bentley.
John was a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran and a lifelong resident of the Bristol area. He retired from Strong Robinette after 30 years of service. John was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Rhymer Bentley; daughter, Donna Dirickson; son, Barry Bentley and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Bradley Price, Amber Roskos, and Brian Bentley; eight great grandchildren; sister, Audrey Smith; brother, Ronald Bentley; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Roger Carter officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard.
