Donald E. "Ducky" Nett, 64, of rural Elkhart Lake died Wednesday morning April 18, 2012 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 30, 1947 in Fond du Lac, son of the late Anthony & Cordelia (Reinl) Nett.

Don was a graduate of New Holstein High School. On May 31, 1969 Don and Margaret "Peggy" Weinreis were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brillion. Peggy preceded him in death on July 31, 2003.

For more that 40 years, Don was a dedicated employee of Tecumseh Products in New Holstein. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He also was a member of Whitetails Unlimited.

Don's greatest joy was spending time with his family and many friends, especially his grandchildren and his brother Gary. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and sturgeon spearing. He loved his time up north at his cabin in Lakewood. But most importantly he enjoyed his time with his family.

Survivors include his children; Kevin (Bonnie) Nett of Kiel, Kristy (Matt) Schmitz of New Holstein. Grandchildren; Stacy (Special friend Jason Regan), Heather, Nicole and Nathan Brunette, Gavyn, Megan and Bradyn Schmitz. Great Grandchildren; Preston, Carter and Scarlett. Don is further survived by his sisters and brothers; Diane (Ron) Ballwanz of Fond du Lac, Barb (Mike) Schrage of Oshkosh, Gary (Kay) Nett of Kiel, Sharon (Don) Franzen of New Holstein. Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law; John Weinreis, of FL., Geoffrey (Debbie) Weinreis of Reedsville, David (Sheri) Weinreis of Oshkosh, Mark Weinreis of Brillion, Jane Ponkratz of FL., Betty (Raymond) Gegare of Green Bay, Mary Beyer of Brillion, Karen (Tom) Bonfigt of DePere. Don is also survived by a very special friend; Meg Kienbaum, along with Aunts, Uncles other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; Peggy, Nephew; Justin Bonfigt, brothers-in-law; Bud Krueger, Bob Beyer, Clayton Ponkratz, Sister-in-law; Judy Weinreis, along with many aunts and uncles.

Funeral Mass for Don will be celebrated at 7:00pm on Friday April 20, 2012 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Loren Nys S.D.S. officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 3:00pm until 6:45pm when we will have brief family rites. Burial in the Parish Cemetery.

Don's family would like to thank Dr. Kumar and the entire staff of Vince Lombardi Cancer Center for the care and compassion over the past years, also to the entire staff of Sheboygan Memorial, especially 2K for the excellent care given to Don and his family. Most importantly a very grateful thank you to Don's brother Gary, who took Don to his appointments, spent time with Don and really was not only a brother but a great friend.
