Sullivan Union, September 15, 1915; Joseph Hubble. A Merom Citizen, Died Last Week. Merom, Sept. 14. Joseph Hubble, one of the oldest residents of this place died here Thursday at the home of his son, George M. Hubble at the age of 69 years. His death was the result of a complication of diseases. Mr. Hubble was a native of New York (actually his parents were of New York he was born in Johnson County Indiana, as his father Stephen Hubble/ell bought land in Johnson County in 1827) and was born Jan., 27, 1836. He was married in 1859 to Sarah A. Paskins, who died in 1885. Two sons were born to this union both of whom survive. George M. Hubble of Merom, and Herbert Hubble{went by Bert most of the time but census and other records show John Albert}, a well known farmer of Gill township. Joseph Hubble was engaged in the blacksmithing business for many years.
