According to his wife's obituary he married Marie Jindrich on September 25, 1866 at Vomice. They emigrated to the United States in 1890, arriving in Brainard on May 29. Death of Frank Horacek, Sr.
BRAINARD, April 22 - Frank Horacek, Sr., a respected resident of this locality for nearly 23 years, died at his home in Brainard Friday, April 18, at 3 p. m., from rheumatism, following illness of two months duration. The funeral services were held in the Brainard Catholic church on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Father Alois Klein, pastor of that church. The pall-bearers were Mike Bruner, John Dus, John Fiala, L. J. Kavalec, John Rech, Sr., and Frank Sabata, Sr. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery east of town. There was large attendance at the funeral. In attendance from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. John Shramek and children from Havelock and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kavalec and F. J. Zeman, from Bruno. Mr. Horacek was in his 69th year. He was born at Vomice, Moravia, on August 10, 1844. He was married in Moravia, to Marie Jindrich, 47 years ago, who survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Horacek came to Butler county July 17, 1890. Mr. Horacek was a farmer by occupation and a successful farmer. Five sons and five daughters and their mother survive Mr. Horacek. They are Jake, Frank C., Stanley and Anton, residing in Brainard, Joseph, residing in Bruno, Mrs. John Shramek of Havelock, Mrs. Joseph Havel of David City, Mrs. Emil Kavalec of Bruno, Miss Christine Horacek of Brainard and Mrs. Anna Smolnik, residing in Vienna, Austria.
