Died at the home of his daughter Feb 5 1900 WILLARD JOHNSON in his 80th year. He suffered an attack of paralysis went into a comatose condition and died. He was born in Volney May 16 1820. In 1852 he engaged in canal and lake transportation for twelve years after which he gave himself up to contracting. In 1862 he was elected to the Assembly without opposition, he also served on the War Council. He was member of the state Democratic committee and attend several National Democratic Conventions. He was married Sept 9 1847 to Miss
Mary Gasper and the union was blessed with four children — two of whom, John Lovell and Mrs. Mary Hall survive him. Mrs. Johnson died Nov 22 1870. Funeral services will be held at the family home with burial in Mt Adnah.
