Lloyd Virgil Halligan

Services for Lloyd V. Halligan, age 66, were at 10 a.m. Friday in the Peet Mortuary Chapel with services conducted by the Mormon Church. Burial with military honors followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Halligan died Monday, Dec. 18, 1989, at the VA Hospital in Hot Springs, S.D. He was born Sept. 17, 1923 at Iona, South Dakota, the son of Lloyd C. and Edith Halligan. He attended school in Iona and later moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska and worked on various farms from 1943-1953. He served in the Army for four years during World War II. Lloyd and his first wife were the parents of three children. In 1953 he married Marion Frye at Casper, and they were the parents of three children. Lloyd worked in the oil fields from 1953 to 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Survivors include: his three children from his first marriage, Jerry Halligan of Oregon, Elvie Halligan of Seattle, and Ronny Halligan of Scottsbluff, his three children from his second marriage, Larry Halligan of Lusk, Jessie Halligan of Casper, and Connie Halligan of the family home in Lusk; three sisters, Darlene, Phyllis and Betty; three brothers Harold, Richard and Elliot; plus numerous other relatives and friends.
