CLIFTON - Alfred "Al" H. Chambers, 66, died May 4, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 27, 1938, in Calais, the son of Nathanial Chambers Sr. and Ethel (Bacon) Foss. Al served his country in the U.S. Navy as a medical corps-man. He worked at St. Joseph's Hospital, Eastern Maine Medical Center, and Franklin General in New York. Al's hobbies were fishing and hunting and he had a dear love for animals. He always seemed to have a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and all of his family and friends will miss his fun loving nature.

In addition to his mother, Al is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Gerry (Violette) Chambers of Clifton; a son, Kurt Chambers of New Jersey; daughters, Sheri Noctor and husband, Tom, of Pennsylvania, Robin Wassum and husband, Barry, of Pennsylvania, Dawn Mix and husband, Troy, of Michigan; brothers, Robert Bacon and friend, June, of Princeton, Nathanial Chambers Jr. and wife, Nancy, of South Portland; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Violette and wife, Helen, of Old Town, Harold Violette of Orange County, Fla., Joseph Violette and wife, Vicki, of Enfield, Conn.; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Francis and husband, John, of Enfield, Conn., June Lakenbach and husband, Paul, of Ellington, Conn.; five grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his chocolate lab companion, "Brownie".
He was predeceased by his father, Nathanial Chambers Sr.; a stepfather, Leroy Foss; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Bacon. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. (Bangor Daily News 5/7/2005)
