Jim Lee Mize, 79, died Thursday in Abilene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Starbuck Funeral Home Chapel in Merkel with Claud Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel.
Mr. Mize was born in Anson and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a truck driver for many years and also was employed by the Texas Highway Department in Anson for three years before retiring. He then was a custodian at Southern Hills Church of Christ and worked in yard maintenance for Veda's Village at Lake Stamford. He married Madge Bullard in 1984 in Abilene. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of Woodlawn Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two daughters, Sherry B. Billiot of Abilene and Dee Dee Still of Sweetwater; one stepdaughter, Frances Kimbrell of Shallowater; one sister, Irene Fincher of Stephenville; five grandchildren; and many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 41, Abilene 79604.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
