James Floyd Stamper, b 26 Jan 1881, d 10 Sep 1948, m 11 May 1907 America Ann Boggs, b 19 Jan 1887, d 11 Feb 1973. They are buried at Double Springs Cemetery, Waynesburg, KY. They had 8 children, 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 26 great-great- grandchildren. The 8 children are:
1. Mayme Ross Stamper Miracle
2. Maynard N. Stamper
3. Robert Bruce Stamper
4. John Howard Stamper
5. Eugene Grant Stamper
6. Edwin Porch Stamper
7. Mary Mildred Stamper McHenry
8. Earl Davis Stamper

Our roots extend from the Scottish Highlands, passing through Virginia and into Letcher Co., KY, finally settling in Lincoln Co., KY. The home place on Highway 27 was built in 1924 and remained our permanent residence.

Johnny and Mary Boggs, America's mother and dad, had moved to the Waynesburg area earlier than Floyd and America and had convinced them to come to Lincoln Co.

Floyd and America were members, along with all their children, of the Double Springs Baptist Church, Waynesburg. They taught Sunday School classes and were an integral part of all the activities of the community.
