Daisy Myrl Axson Jackson
NORTH — Daisy Myrl Axson Jackson, "Miss Daisy," lived 87 wonderful and blessed years before going to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, May 21, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Hopewell Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Nathaniel Waites officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 3 p.m.

Pallbearers will be beloved grandsons: Bobby Ray Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Rod Jackson, Trey Fralick, Spencer Irick, and Richie Ehrhardt. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Goodland Bar-B-Que and the willing workers of the Hen House Ministries.

Mrs. Jackson was born on November 2, 1918, and raised in the Sawyerdale Community. She was the last surviving member of her birth family, which consisted of her parents, Martin Clarence and Cora Flake Axson; sister Maude A. Fogle; brothers Marion Axson and J.B. Axson. She was married to the late Wiley Quitman (W.Q.) Jackson for 61 years. She was a life-long member of Hopewell Southern Methodist Church. She retired at the age of 65 after working with numerous manufacturing companies in and around Orangeburg County. She was later affiliated with Carolina Fresh Farms. Her latest endeavor was hostess at Goodland Bar-B-Que, which she dearly loved. She was also a volunteer with the Hen House Ministries.

She leaves to cherish her memories five children: Bobby Joe (Nancy) Jackson, Wiley Q. "Jackie" (Carolyn) Jackson, Jr., Rebecca Merle "Becky" (Henry) Sharpe, Clarence Timrod "Timmy" (Lori) Jackson, and Madilyn Jane (Danny) Fralick; nine grandchildren: Vicki (Spencer) Irick, Bobby Ray (Kim) Jackson, Janet Elaine Jackson, Sonya (Richie) Ehrhardt, Rod (Melissa) Jackson, Andrew (Debbie) Jackson, Heather Denise Sharpe, Trey (Jessica) Fralick, and Tammy Jackson; ten great-grandchildren: Justin, Casey, Bayleah, Wiley, Ethan and Caleb Jackson, Shembra Irick, Zachary and Madison Ehrhardt, and Triston Fralick; a number of nieces and nephews, and a number of special and beloved friends. She was predeceased by two grandsons, Henry Carlisle Sharpe, and Bryan Keith Sharpe.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1998 Ninety-Six Road, North.

Memorials may be made to Hopewell Southern Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Martha Anne Axson, 1715 Ninety-Six Road, North, SC 29112 or to Winyah Community Hospice Care, 395 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff and employees of Providence Hospital, Forest Drive.
