Mrs. Baxter was born near Blanket and moved to the Shamrock area in 1928. She married Robert Lee Baxter Jr. in 1933 at Shamrock. They farmed and ranched near the Dozier community for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973; a son, Robert Lee Baxter III, in 1984; and an infant son. She owned and operated Wheeler County Credit Bureau for many years and was active with many organizations in the Samnorwood school system. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the 1935 Forum Club. She was a former member of the Priscilla Club.
Survivors include a son, Ken Baxter of Shamrock; a brother, Sam Ribble of Lubbock; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
