Services for Baxter H. Turnage, operator of the Broken Wheel Steak House will be at Memphis Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Turnage, who was 54, died at 2:15 yesterday morning at Baptist Hospital after an illness of six months. He was a lifelong Memphian and lived at 1703 Euclid.
Before Mr. Turnage acquired the Broken Wheel Steak House eight years ago, he served for 10 years as business agent for the Butchers Union Local 452. He was a part owner of the Diplomat Club at 2491 South Bellevue that closed in March of this year.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Covington Scott Turnage; three sons, Mark W. Turnage of 910 North Hollywood, Baxter Turnage Jr. and William H. Turnage, both of the Euclid address; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Raffanti of 4732 Argonne; a brother, Joe Turnage of 2978 Atmore; and three grandchildren.
