Karen A. Scarpitti, 63, passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Born in Akron, Ohio and a graduate of Buchtel High School, Karen lived in Uniontown for the past 38 years, where she devoted her life to her family and friends.

She enjoyed plants and flowers, and every spring found her tending to her backyard gardening. Karen and her husband loved entertaining their family and friends, vacationing in Florida, and going to the Sons of Herman Club in Akron. Karen also enjoyed playing Canasta with her friends every month for the past 39 years.

Karen and her husband together founded and operated Universal Plastics since 1976.

Preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Opal (Bauer) Stampfle, she leaves her beloved husband of 42 years, Jeffrey Morris Scarpitti; aunt Orpha Bauer; brothers, Glenn (Dottie) Stampfle and Alan (Karen) Stampfle; sister, Norma (Dean) Smith; son, Wade (Lisa) Scarpitti; daughter, Julie (Scott) Holland; grandchildren, Brian, Jaimie, Kevin, Chas, and Kyle; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral at Schermesser Funeral Home, City of Green Chapel, 600 E. Turkey foot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio, Dec 29 2004 Minister Ken Morrison officiating.
