Gerald graduated from Davenport High School in 1938 and Married Pauline Niccum in 1940 and had two children together. After she passed away he married Margaret (Neer) in 1988.
Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war he drove a gasoline truck for his brother at Glen Key Transport Company. He later worked for the First National Bank of Chandler from 1950 – 1959 at which time he moved to Wellston. He became a partner in the Wellston State Bank where he retired in 1991 after 32 years of service.
Gerald was a long time member of the Assembly of God Church in Chandler.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen Key; sister, Ola Cochran; daughter, Shirley Jean Nettles; and great-grandson, Carson Key.
He is survived by his son, Jerry and his wife Brenda Key of Wellston; four grandsons, Alan and his wife Rebecca Nettles of Elsmore, KS, Mark and his wife Joni Nettles of Carney, Scott and his wife Julie Key of Broken Arrow, Brian and his wife Melanie Key of Owasso; sister, Lily Mae and her husband Gail Fenderson of Meeker; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel of Wellston with interment following in the New Zion Cemetery of Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
