A lengthy illness terminated last Friday in the death of Andrew Stinner, one of the most widely known young men of the town, the dissolution taking place at his home. Mr. Stinner was aged 34 years and 9 nine months and the cause of death was tuberculosis. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stinner, and was born in Mifflin Township. He has spent his entire life in this vicinity, and most of the time in Duquesne. By occupation he was a tin plate worker and, up until this last illness, had been employed in the mills of McKeesport. He had been unable to work for a year or more, and his death had been expected for several weeks. Several years ago he was a robust young man and a baseball pitcher with the old D. A. C. team. He was of a quiet, retiring disposition and had many friends. (from the Duquesne Observer, Jul 14, 1922)
Note: After Andrew's death Matilda married Herman Beck.
