REDKEY - Phyllis R. McLaughlin, 90, of Redkey, IN, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 while in the company of family members, at Miller's Merry Manor, Dunkirk.
Phyllis was born in , on July 17, 1922, a daughter of the late Meredith (Armstrong) and David Earl Cook.
She was a member of Redkey Church of The Nazerene Redkey, IN 47373.
Phyllis loved spending time with her family, was an avid reader, worker of crossword puzzles, and enjoyed crocheting
She formerly worked as a Retail Clerk at True Value Portland, IN.
She was the widow of Hural "Bus" LeRoy McLaughlin.
Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Sharon Burris, of Redkey, IN; two grandchildren, Jeff Burris (wife, Beth) of Redkey, Michelle Nehrbass (husband, Pat) of Granite Bay, California and grandson-in-law, Dave Bowman of Hartford City; four great-grandchildren, Toni Perkins (husband, Josh) of Muncie, Taylor Burris of Redkey, Madison Nehrbass and Delaney Nehrbass of Granite Bay, California and two great-great-grandchildren, Jude and Rowen Perkins of Muncie; two sisters, Janis Current, of Redkey, IN and Sue Pittenger, of Muncie, IN.
Besides her husband, "Bus" McLaughlin, Phyllis was preceded by son, Ronald LeRoy McLaughlin; brothers, Melvin Cook, Merrill Cook and Obed Cook; sister, Wilma Lucas, grandchildren, Rhonda Bowman and Brian Lee Burris
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel and one hour prior to services Friday.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at M J S Mortuaries Redkey Chapel, Redkey, IN, with Pastor Phil Dorhees officiating.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery Redkey, IN.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel.
