Rollo R. Arp, 82, of Muscatine, passed away, Thursday, April 16, 1998, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19, at Bentley Funeral Homes in Durant. Additionial visitation will be Noon to 1:00 p.m., before services on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to Blue Grass Presbyterian Church and Blue Grass Lions Club in his memory.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, at Blue Grass Presbyterian Church in Blue Grass, with grandson, Pastor Jeffrey Arp, of the First Assembly of God Church, Warrensburg, Missouri, and Rev. Charles Mills, of Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, officiating. Pallbearers are grandsons, Jeffrey Arp, Jerry Earl Mathias, Justin Arp, Daniel Boll, Daniel Stichter and John Ryan. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Rollo Rudolph Arp was born October 28, 1915, in Wilton, the son of Julius and Ella (Stuehm) Arp. He received his education in the Muscatine County schools. He married Verna Erena Miller on February 21, 1940, in Davenport. Together they farmed in Muscatine County, until they retired in 1990. He also drove a school bus for the Muscatine Community schools for 24 years. Verna preceded him in death on November 18, 1995. He was a member of the Blue Grass Presbyterian Church, a former president of Blue Grass Lions Club, the Muscatine County Farm Bureau and Blue Grass Senior Citizens. He enjoyed nature and gardening. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family.

Surviving are one daughter, Grace Ann Mathias of Muscatine; three sons, Raymond (Judith) Arp of Wilton, Leon (Elnora) Arp and Dean (Jan Reeves) Arp, both of Muscatine; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Minnie Weih of Sunbury and Dorothy (Harlen) Bland of Durant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother-in-law, Leo Weih.
