Ruth Warnberg Fell, 89, of Rigby, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Pinebrook Assisted Living Center in Rigby, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 30, 1924 to Sigurd Konrad and Eva Gussie Henricksen Warnberg in Parker, Idaho. Ruth graduated from the LDS School of Nursing, which started a lifelong legacy of caring for others. During WWII she joined the Cadet Nurses Corps which took her to Denver, Colorado, Spokane, Washington, and Los Angeles, California. She always shared fun-filled memories of this time of her life.
On November 12, 1946 she married Arlin Horace Fell in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. In 1953 she and Arlin bought the Maternity home on State Street in Rigby. She always remembered the names of people who had children at the maternity home and often would remark when her children would mention a schoolmate's name "they were born at the maternity home."
In 1964 the maternity home was sold and Ruth and family move to a farm 4 miles west of Rigby where Ruth started the next part of her life.
After the farm was sold Ruth continued to work as an OB Nurse at Sacred heart Hospital until she was asked to change roles to a house supervisor. She loved this job and continued in the role for the remainder of her career. She remained at the hospital as it transitioned to Idaho Falls Consolidated Hospitals, working at both Riverview and Parkview Hospitals and finally EIRMC.
Ruth loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, her dogs, the Nevada Desert, and most of all, her family, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her aunts and uncles and brother and sisters remained close throughout their lives and taught her children the importance of family. She often traveled with her brothers and sisters and loved the adventures she shared with them.
Her final years were spent at Pine Brook Assisted Living Center in Rigby where their amazing staff treated her with the love and care she deserved. Special thanks to Pine Brook Assisted Living Center and Hands of Hope Hospice.
She is survived by her daughters: Karla R. (Dannie) Grover, of Idaho Falls, Elizabeth "Liz" (Jodie) Boyce, of Rigby, and Kierstin R. (Dave) Holland, of Idaho Falls; son, Bradley K. (Lori) Fell, of Idaho Falls; brothers: Gene (Elaine) Warnberg, of Idaho Falls, and Ray Warnberg, of Walla Walla, WA; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Phyllis Kunz; and brother, Keith Warnberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Rigby East Stake Center. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
