MARTINSVILLE BULLETIN
The funeral for Sam Henry "Peanut" Clark, 84, of Martinsville, who died May 11, 2012, at his home, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Baptist Church in Collinsville with Pastor Charles Harrison officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.today at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home.
He was born June 15, 1927, in Bassett to Jess Clark and Ada Purdy Clark.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Clark, in 2002; two brothers, Roy C. Clark and Elmo Clark; and two sisters, Myrtle Lorene Clark and Sue Stone.
He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and retired from American Furniture Co. with more than 36 years of service.
Surviving are two sons, Lawrence "Lonnie" Clark of Bassett and Jesse Clark of Martinsville; four daughters, Rita Pruitt of Martinsville, Martha Beheler of Collinsville, Florence Dix of Axton and Darlene Purdy of Bassett; three sisters, Verna Shelor of Stanleytown, Jean Edwards of Deer Park, Texas, and Ellen Clark of Martinsville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jason Alverson, Bryan Clifton, Eddie Foley, Wayne Handy, Jimmy Hodge, Pam LeBrecque, Dennis McCoy and Kevin Shelton.
