SHAWVILLE - Dorothy A. Martell, 83, of Shawville died Saturday, Nov. 19, 1994, at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born Dec. 1, 1910, in Stronach, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Rice) Dodge.
Mrs. Martell was a homemaker, and was a member of the Shawville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are seven children, Leonard R. Martell of Clearfield R.D., Marshall R. Martell of Buffalo, N.Y., Marilyn Shugarts of Shawville, Marvin L. Martell of Philipsburg, Stanley A. Martell of Lockport, N.Y., Vernon N. Martell of Grand Island, N.Y., and Lawrence H. Martell of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Twila Bowman and Elaine Norris, both of Curwensville, and Jane Gardner of Mechanicsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L. H. Martell, in 1979; one son, Maynard Martell; one great-grandson; two brothers, Alfred and Dahr Dodge; and one sister, Velma Dale.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Shawville United Methodist Church, Shawville, with the Rev. Robert H. VanNatta officiating.
Interment will be in the Shawville Cemetery.
Friends will be received at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday at the Shawville United Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. until the services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Shawville United Methodist Church, c/o Rev. Robert H. VanNatta, Box 162, Shawville, Pa. 16873.
