Published on Cox Funeral Home of Bainbridge, GA web site.∼Peggy Amelia Davis Meyers, age 85, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Born April 15, 1938, in Cairo, Georgia, she went to be with the Lord on Friday, July, 28, 2023 with her daughter sitting closely by her side. Many lives were touched and inspired by her in Georgia, Florida and elsewhere. She also felt so blessed by the number of close friends, family and others who showed her the love, care and compassion that made her life so enjoyable. She was a proud graduate of Cairo High School in 1956 and was voted best all-around. She spent many successful years with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, working and making friends before retiring and enjoying many additional, gratifying years with her husband, Frank. Now, she's in the presence of Jesus, in a new body, looking forward to eternity! Peggy is preceded by her husband: Frank and sister: Musette Lowe (Gordy). She's survived by her daughter: Apryl Stephens, son-in-law: Jason Stephens, grandchildren: Jason Cobb Jr., Marshall Cobb, Dakota Stephens, Libbee Stephens and Rook Stephens and great grandson: Brody Cobb – along with so many dear friends. Please join us in celebrating the time she spent with us on August 9, 2023, at 1 p.m. We will be at Eastside Baptist Church, located at 404 5th Street NE. Cairo, GA 39828 for a viewing and formal service followed by a brief graveside service.
Services for Mrs. Meyers will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, Georgia. The Rev. Matt Vickers, Rev. Jimmy Voyles, and Mr. Jason Stephens will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Cairo High School Class of 1956 will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 1:00 pm.
