LEWIS, Glenn - Of Flushing, age 77, died Monday, April 20, 1998 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lewis will lie in state at the Sunset Chapel of Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., from 4 to 6PM this evening. Burial will be 10 AM Thursday, April 23, 1998 at Montrose Cemetery. Glenn was born December 4, 1920 in Big Springs, TN, the son of Creed and Amanda Lewis. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII from 1942 to 1945. There he received 3 Presidential awards and 14 Battle Stars while serving with the 376 Bomber Group, 515 Squadron. Glenn was employed by Buick for 25 years, retiring in 1978. Surviving are: wife, Nellie; daughters, Tamara Lewis of Evanston, IL, Glenda and husband Terry Carwile of Flint; 4 grandchildren, James and Roxanne Gardner of Flint, Candra and Jeff Streeter of Davison, Mark Gardner and Lance Carwile both of Flint; 3 great-grandchildren, Haley Gardner, Zachary and Kaitlyn Streeter; 1 sister, Willie Ruth Hutson of Chattanooga, TN; 2 brothers, Kenneth and Evelyn Lewis of Montrose, Rudolph and Cricket Lewis of Decatur, TN; several nieces and nephews. Special friends Yvonne Whyte, Chris Fowler, and the "Bullard Family". Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and brothers W.T. (FID) Lewis and Ralph Lewis.
