Virginia D. "Ginny" Reierson, 78 of Devils Lake, ND formerly of Esmond, ND passed away on Monday evening, November 26, 2012 at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Mass of the Resurrection for Virginia will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake with Fr. C. F. Wilhelm celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Devils Lake beside her husband. Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Thursday (today) from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.

Serving as Urn Bearers for Virginia will be her six sons and two daughters. Music will be provided Haley Hoffner, Rosalie Axtman and JoDee Lagein.

Virginia Darlene (Heisler) Reierson was born on April 30, 1934 to Nicolaus and Rose (Heilmann) Heisler in rural Esmond, ND. She attended and graduated from Esmond High School in 1952. Her junior year of high school she attended St. James Catholic School in New Rockford, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Church in Esmond in which she was a member prior to moving to Devils Lake. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and belonged to the Altar Society. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Esmond.

Virginia was united in marriage to Merton Reierson on June 21, 1956 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot, ND. They resided in Minot and Glasgow, Montana before moving to Esmond in 1962. They moved to Devils Lake in 1979. She worked doing sewing for people in the area, as a secretary for Porter Brothers, baking doughnuts for Grandma's Doughnuts, as a cook at the Artclaire Motel and at the Good Samaritan Center before retiring in 2004.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting and musical events. She was a talented and avid seamstress, enjoyed knitting and quilting, putting puzzles together, reading books and liked the challenge of her Kindle.

She is survived by her two daughters and six sons. Sandy (Tim) Wolfe of Esmond, Mary (Jim) Hoffner, Scott (Rebecca) Reierson, Bob (Donna Mertens) Reierson, Craig (Sonja) Reierson, Curtis Reierson, Wade Reierson and Duane (Corrine) Reierson all of Devils Lake; seventeen grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren; brothers Richard (Patty) Heisler of Devils Lake, Ray (Margaret) Heisler of Golden, Colorado, Don Heisler of Arvada, Colorado, Ron (Maxine) Heisler of West Fargo, ND and sister Connie (Bruce) McCullough of Laurel, Montana; many nieces, nephews and their families.

Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Merton on August 9, 1998; grandson, Cassidy Hoffner; her parents; sisters, Rosey Howe and Monica Dahm; brothers, Nicolaus Heisler and Rudy Heisler.
