Mrs. Edith LaRue, 80,
Resident Since 1909
Mrs. Edith G. LaRue, 80, who moved to Phoenix in 1909 and
was a charter member and first president of the Balsz Parent
Teacher Association, died Wednesday in a nursing home.
Mrs. LaRue, 4950 E. Holly, was a retired guest home opera
tor.
Born in Utah, she moved here from Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White
Shrine, and Gold Star Mothers.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 15th Ward
Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
2222 N. 40th St. Burial will be
in Memory Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call at A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary after
2 p.m. Sunday.
She is survived by three sons, Robert and Warren F. of Phoenix and Roscoe D. of Avondale; a stepson, Col. Frank LaRue
of Tacoma, Wash.;
two brothers, Verless Chase of
Houston, Tex., John Melling of Logan, Utah; and 15 grandchildren
