Mary Elizabeth Allen, 85, well-known Guymon pioneer, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, 1991 in Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The daughter of Elizabeth and Miles Wiley, she was born March 4, 1906 in Guymon.

She married Clarence Faris in 1925.

As an active member of Victory Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was a member of the Delphinium Garden Club and an avid thread painter.

She married Leon Allen in 1940.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 22, 1975 and a step-son Robert L. Allen.

Survivors include three sons, Curt Faris of Tucson, Ariz., Bud Faris of Amarillo, Texas and Ken Farris of Guymon; three daughters in love, Jean Faris of Tucson, Doris Faris of Amarillo and Eleanore Faris of Guymon; one step-daughter, Iris Helms of Anthony, Kan.; five granddaughters, Stephanie Royo of Edmond, Okla., Merrilee Braley of Wellington, Fla., Diane Saied, Pamela Clayton and Patricia Stllivent, all of Amarillo; two grandsons, Bud E. Faris of Dumas, Texas and Paul W. Faris of Guymon; four great-granddaughters, Alexis and Monica Saied and Marissa and Kara Lee Faris; and eight great-grandsons, Matthew Saied, Josh and Cole Clayton, Shane and Brady Sillivent, Gant and Spencer Braley and Keegan B. Faris.

Funeral services are pending and will be announced by the Henson Funeral Home of Guymon.

Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of the Hensen Funeral Home.
