Mrs. Sterling was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior and a member of First Assembly of God in Searcy. She retired from thirty-six years of service to the Searcy Public Schools as a Cafeteria Manager. When she wasn't at church or working, she loved garage sales, cooking, fishing, and gardening.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Wayne Deaton and Houston Deaton; and one sister, Lou Davis.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Steve Sterling Sr.; one son, Steve Sterling Jr. and wife Melanie; two daughters, Debbie Parsons and husband Danny, and Rita Iglehart; six grandchildren, Hunter Sterling, Brent Vaughn, Jennifer Bowman, Danielle Hill, Brandi Iglehart, and Brooke Jamison; and one great-grandson, Landon Hill.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the First Assembly of God in Searcy. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
