The Chandler Family Association (.org) has this William Chandler of Newbury, as a member of DNA group 7D while William Chandler of Roxbury is a member of DNA group 9. They are NOT related.
William Chandler came to Newbury, Massachusetts from Wiltshire, England in 1637. He was married three times. Each of his wives was named Mary.
A summary of many sources can be found in the book, 'Before My Grandparents' by Elaine Chandler Fenzl: "William Chandler of Newbury, MA, married first Mary Fowler in 1648, They had Mary in 1649 who married Percival Lowell, Hester In 1641 who married Jonathan Gage, and 2 daughters, one in 1653 and one in 1655, both who died in 1655.
He then married Mary Lord in 1667 and they had 3 sons William, Joseph and Samuel and a daughter named Mary in 1674 who married Jonathan Sampson.
Finally he married Mary Carter in 1677, they had no children."
Of the 15 known cemeteries in Newbury/Newburyport, Essex, MA only 5 were in existence when William died. Although I am not 100% positive this is the correct cemetery this one is closest to his home and has family members buried in it. Considering the sociology of cemeteries this is the most likely burial place.
If anyone can show an alternate burial place, I will gladly change this.
