June retired in 2010 after more than 22 years as a nurse aide with Center of Hope Nursing Home of Union City. She enjoyed spending her leisure time practicing her love of crafts and camping. She was a huge Betty Boop Fan. She be most remembered for her loving to help others.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Chris Durham (Jodi Edger) of Alexandria, KY; two daughters, Robin Reichard (Randy) and Shawn Spivey (Brian), all of Laura, OH; a brother, Keith Hummel (Kay) of Union City, IN; two sisters, Barbara Bruner (Jim) of Portland, IN and Bonnie Deaton of Biloxi, MS; eight grandchildren, John Neargarder, Staci Young, Elishia Welch, Jessica Ulanowicz, Aimee Durham, Joseph Durham, Amanda Guzman and Lauren Glaab; 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a husband, James Keister; and a brother, Paul Hummel.
A service to celebrate June’s life will be 10 am Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Fraze Brooks Memorial Chapel of Union City, IN. Burial will follow in Salamonia Cemetery of Salamonia, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 5-7 pm Monday, December 11th, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice, 1350 N.
