Patrick R. Baker of Mankato, MN, formerly of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away suddenly at his home in Mankato, MN on November 30, 2012. He was 61.

Patrick was born to Ronald C. and Alice E. (O'Hara) Baker on December 30, 1950 in Sioux Falls, SD. He graduated from O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls in 1969. His first marriage was to Myra Meyers in October of 1971. He later finished his education at Mankato State College, graduating with a degree in Social Studies in 1990. Patrick was a Viet Nam veteran, serving in the US Air Force from 1971 to 1974. He joined the US Army in 1978, and was stationed in Colorado, Germany and Korea. He received his honorable discharge from the Army in 1980. While serving in Korea, Patrick met and married Judy (Yen Cha) and from this union, his son, Patrick Vincent was born.

Patrick's work life was spent as a correctional officer in various facilities in Montana and Colorado. After moving to Mankato, he worked at Pioneer Research as a line worker until he suffered a cranial aneurism in 1999.

While attending O'Gorman, Patrick played on the O'Gorman Football team—a team that had the distinction of being named all-city and all-state champions. The football team of 1968 was inducted into the O'Gorman High School Alumnae Hall of Fame.

Patrick spent his retirement days watching his favorite channel, EWTN so that he could "attend" daily Mass and the Chaplet of St. Michael. He loved to follow his favorite sports teams, especially his "beloved" Packers.

Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Vince; three brothers, Richard Baker, Condy (Evelyn) Baker, and Terry (Jeri) Baker, all of Sioux Falls; his two sisters, Barbara (William) Kolb of Sioux Falls, SD, and Annie (William) Strizich of Helena, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
