Jean Ann Tripp Scheffer Jennings
1942 - 2012

Jean Ann Tripp Jennings, 70, of Missoula, Montana, passed away of natural causes Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the International Heart Institute at St. Patrick Hospital.

Jean Ann was born July 29, 1942, in Grand Rapids Minnesota, to Eugene and Angeline Tripp. The family moved to Missoula in 1948 and took up roots in Montana. Jean Ann attended Loyola Sacred Heart High School and graduated in 1960. Jean Ann continued her education with X-ray technician school at St. Patrick Hospital.

After graduating, Jean Ann married her high school sweetheart, Pete Scheffer, [on October 17, 1963] and had two beautiful children, Selina and Thomas. After a tragic car accident took Pete's life, Jean Ann met and married Laurence Wayne Jennings, and was blessed with another son, Larry Jennings.

Jean Ann started her professional career at St. Patrick Hospital, and after several years, moved her career to the Professional Village. She was the head of the X-ray department, working for nine orthopedic surgeons. Jean Ann and Larry raised the family in the Target Range neighborhood. The kids attended Target Range Elementary and Big Sky and Loyola Sacred Heart high schools. Jean enjoyed activities with the family such ice skating, roller skating, horseback riding, boating, camping and too many more to list. After 17 years of marriage, Jean Ann and Larry were divorced. For many years, Jean Ann enjoyed the single life, meeting new faces and creating lifelong friendships. Jean loved jewelry, glassware and china cabinet collectibles, and ran her own booth at the Montana Antique Mall for several years. One of the new faces turned out to be the man she would spend the rest of her life with, George Galbavy. Jean Ann and George enjoyed almost all things together, whether it be shopping, gambling or grandkids. George or "Grandpa Candy" and Jeanie, as he called her, spent most of their time with the grandkids. The "kids" loved catching frogs out of the frog pond and hot-tubbing outside. After the hot tub, Jean Ann enjoyed playing cards with the kids and hand-fed waffles, thanks to Grandma Jean. In the last few years of her life, she enjoyed spending time with her dear friends Gwen and Wah, playing keno machines and experiencing new restaurants.

Jean Ann is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Lewis Tripp Sr.; and husbands, Pete Scheffer and Laurence Wayne Jennings.

Survivors include her mother, Angeline Tripp; siblings, Eugene Lewis Tripp Jr. and Lisa Tripp Brittner; daughter and sons, Selina Scheffer, Tom Scheffer and Larry L. Jennings; seven grandchildren, Mathew Morgan and Little Lisa, Sierra and Sakai Scheffer and Thomas Scheffer, and Amanda and Laurence Jennings; and two great-grandchildren, Karsyn and Kyleigh.
