Alexandra was born on August 15, 1859 in Russia to Russian parents. She died after a two-year illness at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 24, 1945 at the home of her daughter Helen in Bradleytown, Pennsylvania.


When political and social unrest began to develop (see Kishinev pogroms) in Kischinew, Russia, (also known as Kishinev, present-day Chisinau, Moldova) Alexandra, her husband Albert, and their children Helen and George left Russia and immigrated to Pennsylvania. Their eldest son Wasili remained in Russia.


The Schneider family arrived at the Port of New York from Hamburg, Germany embarked on board the SS President Grant on Thursday, June 2, 1910. The Schneiders first settled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, later removing to Wallaceville, Venango County, Pennsylvania where they purchased a grist mill about 1920.

Gravesite Details

The grass marker bearing the Schneider's given names was added to the gravesite on May 10, 2016 by their granddaughter.
