Iva Mae Cavallin, age 100, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Trinity Shores in Port Lavaca. She was born May 4, 1912, in Louise, Texas to the late Mark and Lillie Jane Taylor Dillard.
She was married to Claud Benjamin Cavallin in 1932. She was a charter member of Point Comfort First Baptist Church and retired from the Calhoun County School cafeteria at Point Comfort. She loved birds, flowers, sewing, handwork and most of all family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and three sisters, a son-in-law; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter
She is survived by two daughters; Claudie Mae (Alfred) Schneider of Point Comfort, Lillie Marlene Powell of Clovis, California; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Richardson Colonial Funeral Home with Rev. John Fisher officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Schneider, Blake Schneider, Brandon Patranella, Larry Dillard and Lynn Wagner. Honorary pallbearer will be Alfred Schneider.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Hospice of South Texas and the Point Comfort First Baptist Church.
