She was united in marriage to Walter Carlson in 1938 in Iron River, with whom she raised three daughters, Jeanette (Jim) Hyland of Madison, Karen (the late Bill) Peltier of Brookfield and Darlene (Dan) Weide of Waukesha. Emily is survived by 10 grandchildren, Jenny, Carrie, Jeff, Jane, Jon, Bruce, Kim, Jim, Dennis and Don, and 13 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Bryn, Alex, Lindsey, Cole, Ryan, Michael, Riley, Casey, Mason, Connor, Haley and Jaiden. She is the dear sister of Ann Porvick, Edward Radosevich and Ethel Bolka. Emily is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter; infant son, Richard; sisters, Lena and Mary; brothers, Frank, Tony, Matt, Joe and Raymond "Buddy"; and son-in-law, Bill.
Emily was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and the Brookfield Senior Community Center. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, watching Brewers games, going to rummage sales, exercising with the "Grunt and Groaners," and above all, spending time with her family.
