FLORENCE - Shelby Jean Smith Ford, 67, of 2918 Poinsett Dr., died Monday, September 6, 2004 in a Florence hospital after an illness.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Ford was born in Florence County, South Carolina a daughter of the late Cader Benjamin and Louise Hudson Smith. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star-Mecca Lodge #278, Amvets Post #2 and the V.F.W. Post #3609. She was formerly employed with First Provident and Florence School District #1 Adult Education. She retired from Foster-Sheeler Construction Co.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Vonnie Jenkins.
Surviving are her husband, Ira L. Ford, Jr. of Florence; son, Dale Parker (Barbara) Ford of Effingham; daughter, Iras Jean (Norman) Jones of Mullins, SC; sister, Mary S. Barrow of Florence; 4 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
