Charlotte was born on March 9, 1918, in Nashua, Chickasaw County, Iowa, the daughter of Harry F. and Mae (Fisher) Barth and died Monday, December 3, 2012, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.
She received her education in the rural Floyd County schools and graduated from Greene High School in 1936.
On November 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Lyle Max O'Brien in Tucson, Ariz. They lived in Arizona for a year before returning to Greene.
In 1960 they purchased the Standard Oil Station from Lew Majewski and sold it to Mark O'Brien in 1980.
Charlotte worked with her father and brother, Darrel, as a bookkeeper in the Chevrolet Garage in Greene for 25 years before retiring. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, unit 268, for 55 years.
She was a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Greene, where she was baptized and confirmed in 1936. Charlotte enjoyed golf, bowling, and traveling with friends. She loved to watch sports on TV, especially the Cubs.
Charlotte is survived by brother and sister-in-laws, Neil and Marge O'Brien, Greene, and Shirley and Bill Henly, Clarksville, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle in 1980, her brother Darrel Barth and his wife Roberta, her brother Mervin Barth, and brother and sister-in-laws, John O'Brien, Bob (Eloise) O'Brien, Imogene (Don) Abbott and her parents.
