"Mrs. Andrew R. Smith of Springfield Centre, aged sixty-six, died at Canojoharie, Wednesday afternoon, December 13th, after a prolonged illness, due to cancer and its attendant complications. She was a woman prominent in church and social life. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, had served the Social Service Guild as treasurer, and was Past Matron of Evergreen Chapter, O. E. S., and she will be sadly missed by all these organizations. Her maiden name was Mary Marks and she is survived by her husband, one son, Frank M., and a daughter, Grace; two brothers, Henry and Herbert Marks, of East Springfield; one sister, Mrs. William Tracy of Harvard, Neb., and several nieces and nephews. The body was brought to Springfield Centre and the funeral held from the home, Saturday afternoon, at 1 o'clock, the Rev. W. R. Fraser, her pastor, officiating.
