Alicia Gayle Capps

November 1, 1952- November 30, 2012


Alicia Gayle Capps, born November 1, 1952, passed away November 30, 2012 at Tennova Residential Hospice. She was a member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and attended Jesus Friends at First Presbyterian Church. She was born to Fred and Helen Capps, who proceed her in death. Also preceded in death by brother Fred A. Capps, Jr., grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Survivors include sisters Judy Dunkel and Lisa Vito (Fred), nieces and nephews Scott Dunkel, Danita Kennedy, Chris Dunkel, and Daniel Bell, great nieces and nephews Heath Dunkel, Trevor Dunkel, Jessica Kennedy, Jeff Kennedy, and Shealee Bell, aunt Ruth Jones Helton (Fred), and special cousin Sue Dodson (Denvil). Gayle was a client of Sertoma Center, Inc. for over 38 years and leaves behind many special Sertoma friends, including Donna Dougherty, Susan Kincaid, Malain Josey, Doug Bowersox, Hank Sharp, Tonya Sharpe, Amy Hurst, Rochelle Gilmore, and many others too numerous to name who were important to her. Special thanks to Dr. Amy Rosine, her nurse Sharon and to the staff at Summitt Medical Fountain City for their love and care for Gayle. Family will receive friends 1-3 PM Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel with funeral service at 3 PM with Rev. Dan Dunkel officiating with the help of others who wish to share memories of Gayle. Family and friends will then proceed to Greenwood Cemetery for interment. Gayle's friends from Sertoma will be serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sertoma Center, Inc., Alzheimers of Tennessee or National Downs Syndrome Society in her honor.
