Reverend David Clever Garrison, a methodist minister, left issue. In my 2005 patriots letter draft, I wrote: "Reverend David Clever GARRISON (1837/1921), Co. G 34th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry (O.V.I.); buried in northern Ohio with Helen E. FISHER (1831/1911), his wife (whose family is buried in Emory McKendree Garrison's plot at SpringGrove, since the family plot was formerly owned by Emory's half brother, Rev. David Clever Garrison); Old Part of Cemetery, West End, Hueston Cemetery is in Forest, Hardin County, Ohio with a solid, patriotic monument, and GAR 1861-1865 star. David is the son of Isaac Clever Garrison (1812/1901) and his first wife, Hannah Riley EDWARDS. So, David Clever Garrison was Isaac's eldest son by his 1st wife, while Emory McKendree Garrison was Isaac's eldest son by his 2nd wife (Mary Richey MOORE). Our Harry Harwood Garrison (often called H.H. Garrison) was the baby of the 2nd wife's family with a now older husband, and thus H.H. Garrison was a half brother to Rev. D.C. Garrison (as his tomb in Forest, OH with rifle carvings, etc., reads), and a full brother to lawyer, Emory." He died in Dayton, OH at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

In a 2006 email, I wrote how to find the stone: "when you drive in the cemetery, the road takes a graceful curve slightly upwards, the land flattens out, and right there is a huge squarish stone with rifles, flags, etc- this is Rev. D.C. Garrison. He is on the left side of the road- he is in a very open area (so I would think there is burial room for his descendants)."

David Clever Garrison was a full methodist minister in the area of Lewistown, Ohio and in Forest, Ohio; years ago I found an obit for him up at the methodist archives at Ohio Wesleyan College. His father was an itinerant methodist minister and tailor.
