The Carson's raised a large family in Franklin County, Georgia and had the unique distinction of having all 7 of their sons serve in the Confederate Army and five of them returned home; two of their sons died in the service, James Marion Carson and John Columbus Carson. They also had two son-in-laws who served in the Confederate army; Francis Patterson Neal who married their daughter Dicey Caroline Carson and William Brooks Neal who married daughter Cynthia Clementine Carson.
Cynthia Miller Carson died 16 August 1895 and is buried in Carson Road Family Cemetery in Franklin County, Georgia.
