Mrs. Thomas Jackson Willis of 616 West John died Tuesday in a Grand Island hospital. She had been critically ill for one week. Mrs. Willis had been a resident of the Grand Island area for over 50 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home, with Rev. Volney Lofgreen officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Mrs. Willis was born Sept. 5, 1874 in Knoxville, Iowa, to Albridge and Lisa Jane Dilts. She was married on June 15, 1890 to Thomas Jackson Willis in Skidmore, Mo., where they lived until 1913 when they began farming in the Alda area. After her husband's death in 1936, she moved into Grand Island where she has made her home since with her children.
She is survived by a son, Aaron; three daughters, Etta, Eva and Minnie, all of Grand Island; three sisters, Mrs. Al Raphael of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Bessie Cunningham of Oregon City, Ore., and Mrs. Lottie Allen of Ashland, Kan.; two grandsons, Paul and Richard Willis of Grand Island; and two great granddaughters. Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jackson Willis and one son, Walter
