BURLINGTON FLATS — Mrs. Georgia Decker, 73, of Burlington Flats, died at home Thursday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2000.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1926, in Laurens, a daughter of Wesley George and Gladys (Storing) Bard.

She married Benjamin F. (Frank) Decker on Aug. 15, 1959, in Burlington Flats. Frank died on March 3, 1986.

Georgia was raised in Laurens and was a graduate of the Laurens Central School. She then attended a nurses training school and became a licensed practical nurse. For five years she served as an LPN at the former Otsego County Infirmary and then served for two years at the Clara Welch Thanksgiving Home. In later years she was employed as a private duty nurse, retiring in 1985.

At one time Georgia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hartwick. She enjoyed her flower gardens and going to area lawn and garage sales.

Georgia is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Henry (Danny) and Louise McAdams of Burlington Flats; one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Clarence Manwarren of Oxford; four grandchildren, Tammy Williams and Vicky Manwarren, both of Oxford, Sebrena Effner of Delhi and Brian McAdams of Burlington Flats; eight great-grandchildren, Dennis James Williams, Peggy Sue Williams, Danielle Nicole Williams, Dustin Lee Manwarren, David Smith, Tiffy Manwarren, Keanna Atwell and Daniel Atwell; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Henry Bard of Burlington Flats and Paul and Ida Bard of Norwich; one sister, Mrs. Betty Lints of Greene; and several nieces and nephews.

Georgia was predeceased by her brother, Robert Bard, who died in 1990.

Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown, with the Rev. John C. Young officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Hartwick Seminary Cemetery.

At the request of the family there will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Connell, Dow & Deysenroth Funeral Home in Cooperstown.

BURLINGTON FLATS — Inadvertently omitted from the obituary for Georgia Decker that was published Jan. 28 were three grandchildren, Leroy Effner, Dennis Williams Sr. and Kelly Atwell, and one great-grandson, Willy Effner.
