James David Fry was born on January 7, 1913 in Johnsville, Erath Co, TX. He was the son of George David Fry and Mary Hanson Hope. He married Estella Mae Wood on 20 Jan 1933 in Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, TX. James and Estella were the parents of Donald Fry, James Arthur Fry, and Eleanor Jan Fry. During World War II, he served as a Motor Machinists Mate Third Class in the U.S. Navy. After the war, James was a mechanic at Burns Automotive Clinic at 4301 W. Vickery Street in Fort Worth. On August 3, 1967 at 11:35 a.m., he was working on a automobile when the jack collapsed and the car fell on his head and neck region. He died from an obstructed airway and a skull fracture.
