OBITUARY

Bertha Sue WALKER
JULY 18, 1949 – MARCH 11, 2022

IN THE CARE OF
Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist-North Chapel and Hamilton Memorial Gardens

Bertha Sue WALKER, age 72, of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. Sue was born July 18, 1949 in Dubuque, Iowa. At a very young age she was adopted by George & Edna Riddle. George was in the Air Force which led Sue to meet the love of her life, Joe Walker, who was also serving. On August 8, 1971 they were married. 3 children were born to this union, Kristin (born 1971), and twins, Todd & Katrina (born 1973). Joe loved to make people laugh and especially loved puns… his favorite was telling people that he married a riddle and had 3 little jokes… AKA Kristin, Todd and Katrina.

Sue was an extraordinary homemaker… from caring for her kids, to even being the Mrs. Fix It (sorry Joe!) in the family. She also loved Coffee and movies. A day could not start properly unless she had at least 2 cups of coffee, if not more, and countless hours of every cop show on and off air!

Sue & Joe loved their kids dearly, but they became second fiddle when their first grandchild, Mason was born, followed by Max, Kayla, Emily, Phoebe and Kenna. She was blessed years later with three bonus grandchildren, Michael, Jordan and another Kayla! She made sure they each knew how much she loved them -and began the phrase "I love you gobs and gobs and oodles and oodles!" or "noodles and noodles" as she would occasionally say! She had an infectious smile and a funny way of misinterpreting common phrases, words and songs, like the car "Buick" was pronounced "Brick" and the list goes on and on…

Sue & Joe lived in Marietta, Georgia until they moved to the Soddy Daisy/Hixson, Tennessee area in the 2000s, where they resided until Joe's passing on May 19, 2018. After Joe's death, Sue moved to Acworth, Georgia to live with her daughter, Katrina, where she passed away on March 11, 2022.

Sue's final hours were spent laughing, crying and as always, making sure her family knew they were loved! To say Sue will be missed is an understatement. We know this is not a goodbye, but a "see you later." Sue is now PAIN FREE and walking the streets of gold with Joe!

Sue is preceded in death by her husband on May 19, 2018; her father George Riddle; her mother Edna Stoltz; and her brother-in-law, Robert Louis "Bob" Walker on July 23, 1998.

Sue is survived by her children, Kristin (Steve) Blevins of Hixson, TN, Todd (Janel) Walker of Dover, DE and Katrina (Sean) Kelley of Acworth; 9 grandchildren: Mason and Max Blevins of Hixson, TN, Kayla and Kenna Kelley of Acworth, Emily and Phoebe Walker of Dover, DE, Michael, Kayla and Jordan Kelley of Acworth; her brothers-in-law, Gary (Becky) Walker and Steve (Micky) Walker both of Evansville, IN; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, GA, 30060 at 1 p.m.
