CLEARFIELD – Deloris "Dee" Sleight Nalder, 91, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at her home of natural causes.

She was born July 12, 1920 in Burley, Idaho the daughter of John Orson and Gussie Ann Goochey Sleight. Married Floyd Peterson in 1941, later divorced. Married Leland R. Nalder in 1951, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Dee was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many capacities.

She liked to do arts and crafts of any kind and mastered oil painting.

Surviving are her husband, Leland R. Nalder, Clearfield; two sons, Lonne Lee (Mary) Nalder, Oxbow, Oregon; Lewis Byron Nalder, Clearfield; daughters, Cheryl Dee (Steve) Nalder Sheffield, Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Terri Lee (Bill) Pate, Smithville, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and sister, Helen S. Gurr, Mesa, Arizona. Preceded in death by infant son, parents, four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
