Mr. William Kenneth "Bill" Doak, age 83 years, a resident of Kamloops BC, passed away on April 6, 2012. Bill was born in Fort William and grew up on Sprague Street with parents Ken and Bernie Doak and sister Connie. He attended First Church United, Francis St School, Fort William Collegiate and 1 year Forestry at Lakehead University before joining the RCMP in 1951. Following his training in Rockcliffe, Ontario he was stationed in Edmonton, AB, Ottawa, and Vancouver (residing in Delta) and retiring in 1986. He and his wife Betty moved to Kamloops BC in 2005. Bill cherished the fondest memories of his years growing up in Fort William. He was one of the original "Boys" of the Fort William Pipe Band, playing lead side drum until he left the city. Bill made regular summer trips "home" to visit family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife Betty (Aldridge) Kamloops; sons Ken of Surrey BC, Murray of Port Hardy BC; daughter Kathy of Edmonton AB; granddaughter Michelle (Gregg) Wright; great granddaughter Alexis of Kamloops BC; sister Connie Humby and her family, Bill (Christiane) Humby, Nico and Paula of Edmonton, Susan (Alfie) Childs and Jamie of Thunder Bay and Christie (Mike) Nerino and Michael, Kylee Childs of Dryden. Also survived by longtime family friends Deryle (Bruce) Bond and her mother Edith Black, cousins Winnie (Tom) Dixon and Bunty Kubinec all of Thunder Bay. Bill was predeceased by parents Ken and Bernie Doak, grandson Leigh Parker, daughter Debbie Parker and brother-in-law Howard Humby. Cremation as taken place in Kamloops.
